Here are the steps to be followed in order to catch the Android 5.0.1 update on your HTC One E8. Make sure that you’re not skipping any of the below steps.


  • The following guidelines are made for the HTC One E8 only.
  • Make sure that your device has at least 80% battery backup while doing this process.
  • Enable a proper custom recovery tool like CWM or TWRP on your device.
  • Install required USB drivers on your PC and USB Debugging Mode on your Smartphone.

Steps to Update HTC One E8 to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS:

Step 1: You can begin the installation process by downloading the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware files on your PC.

Step 2: Now, download the Gapps files as well. Don’t unzip any of the above downloaded files.

Step 3: By using a USB cord, connect your device with PC.

Step 4: Transfer all the above downloaded files to the internal storage of your device.

Step 5: Turn off your device and run it in reboot mode once after the removal of USB cord.

Step 6: Click “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe dalvik cache” from the recovery mode.

Step 7: Click on “install zip from SD card” and “choose zip from SD card”

Step 8: Follow the above steps in the case of installation of Gapps as well.

Step 9: Once you’re done with the above steps successfully, then you can go back to the recovery menu. Select “reboot system now”.

That’s it. Now, you can begin using and enjoy the exciting features of Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS on your HTC One E8.
