Install Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS CM13 on Android One Sprout 4

The Xda community is trying hard to make every Android user happy giving new updates in their device and they are working hard to release new ROMs for every device out there. You can check whether the CyanogemMod ROM is available for your device. we will be checking out on how to update the Android One codenamed Sprout 4 devices to the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS CM 13

Updating your device with the latest CM 13 Android OS will bring you latest features and security updates of the Android Marshmallow 6.0 to your device and users can update their device with the OS.

  • Please note that the ROM is still in development stage, and full updated ROM is not yet available, but this ROM is still safe to use.
  • There is some minor software related issues in the ROM available, and these will be rectified in the future updates.
  • When looking at the user comments and reviews, the ROM can be easily run for daily use, and the issues are only minor.
  • Please do the update process carefully and we won’t be responsible for anything wrong goes to the device.
  • If you are not satisfied and if you feel like to reinstall the current ROM in your device it is good to take a Nandroid backup of your device.
  • Please backup any personal data before running the update process.
  • Root your Android One Sprout 4 device. Because installation of a custom ROM can only be done in an unlocked device.
  • Install a custom recovery image in the Android One Sprout 4 to update your device. We recommend TWRP or CWM recovery.
  • Temporarily disable the antivirus or firewall in your PC for the smooth update process.
  • Disable the Antivirus software and firewall of your PC before starting the update process.
  • Make sure that your device is having more than 50 % of battery before you start the updating process, if you are not having enough power on your device might even brick your device.
  • Enable USB debugging in the device by going into the developer  options, first unhide the developer option by tapping several times in the build option and this will show the developer option, enable USB debugging in it.

How to Update Android One Sprout 4 with CM13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow

  1. Download the firmware file and Google Apps package and save it in the desktop.
  2. Download and Install the USB drivers of your device before connecting the device
  3. Connect your Android One device to your system using the USB cable.
  4. Copy the previously downloaded files into the Android One device and disconnect the device from the computer.
  5. Shut down the smartphone and reboot your android one device into the recovery mode.
  6. Now in the recovery mode, Wipe your system data by selecting the options “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe Dalvik cache”.
  7. Go to the main menu of the recovery mode and select install from SD card
  8. Select the Firmware file that you have copied into the device and install it.
  9. Do the same with the Google Apps Package.
  10. After the Process is done reboot the system by selecting reboot from the main menu.
