How to Update HTC One M7 with CM13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow

HTC One M7 is one of the high-end models that HTC has launched sometimes ago, this device still is in the list of high-end devices, and it will be just fine to Update HTC One M7 with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The HTC One M7 user can now update their device with the CM13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS. But the bad thing is that HTC didn’t have rolled out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow official update for this device. HTC One M7 users can now update their device with the latest CM13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware. This firmware can be installed in International, AT&T, and T-Mobile variants. In the below steps we will be telling you how to install the device with the same.

Please note that this is not an official CyanogenMod release, and this ROM is released by the Xda-developers and it is not completely bug proof. And also note that this is a developer build, and you won’t be getting any HTC UI with the ROM. And this is not connected not connected to official HTC updates since you will be losing the warranty of your device.

If you want to install the device with the same and you can still revert to your old official update by performing an android backup. Performing a Nandroid backup means you must install a custom recovery image on your device.

Root the device in addition to installing a custom recovery image, a root access is needed to install a custom recovery image.

Install a custom recovery image on your device, we recommend installing a custom recovery image like CWM or TWRP recovery on your One M7.

This process needs a computer and a USB cable to connect.

Please disable all the security features on your computers like antivirus or firewall, this is important to perform a clean operation.

Please enable developers option before starting the update, to see the developers option first you should go to the settings and tap several times in the build number, the developer option will be shown in the settings.

Go to the developer options and enable the USB debugging option

please make sure that you have at least 60% of charge on your phone before performing the update.

Make a backup of the personal data in your phone before starting the operation.

How to Update HTC One M7 with CM13 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Custom ROM Firmware

Download the CM 13 custom ROM file; then get Google Apps package and save it on the computers desktop.

Connect your smartphone suing the USB cable.

Transfer the files that you have downloaded into your device.

Unplug the device and power off the device.

Boot your device into recovery mode.

Perform a system wipe by selecting “wipe data factory reset”, “wipe cache partition” and “wipe Dalvik cache” from the recovery menu.

Go to recovery menu and select install

Select the ROM file that you ahve already copied into your device and install.

Repeat the same process with the Google Apps file.

Reboot the device by selecting the reboot option in the recovery menu.
