  • Please charge your smartphone before starting the process. Please make sure it has at least 70%
  • Backup, all the data in your Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Smartphone, using a backup and restore app.
  • Install Developers tools in your PC. Download and Install ADB tools and Fastboot in your PC.
  • Download and Install the device drivers in your PC.
  • Please make sure that the USB Debugging option is enabled before starting the process.
  • To enable go to Settings > about phone > tap on build number for 7-9 times.
  • Go to settings again and you should see > developers options > and enable USB debugging.

How to root Xiaomi Redmi Note 2

  1. Please follow this steps to root your Xiaomi Redmi Note 2
  2. Download the TWRP recovery image and Download SuperSU for Redmi Note 2 Smartphone.
  3. After Downloading, these files rename the custom recovery image into “img” and copy the TWRP recovery image that you have renamed into the directory where you have installed the ADB and Fastboot tools.
  4. Connect your device to the PC and copy the SuperSU file into the internal memory of the system.
  5. Turn off the Redmi Note 2 and Boot the device into Fastboot mode. To enter the fast boot mode, Press the Combination of Volume and Power key.
  6. After entering the Fastboot mode, using the USB cable connect the device to the PC.
  7. Go the directory of ADB tools that you have copied the recovery image file, Open Command prompt using Right click + shift key and from the menu select open command window here.
  8. Enter the command that is used to flash the TWRP recovery, The command is given below

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

After flashing the recovery image, shut down the device and boot it into recovery mode.

Install the rooting SuperSu file by selecting “install” from the recovery menu.

Select the SuperSu file that you have already copied into the system, install it.
