How to flash TWRP Recovery on Motorola Moto Maxx

Download TWRP Recovery and Download SuperSU for your Moto Maxx

Copy the SuperSU to the internal storage of your device, you can connect the USB cable to copy the files.

Copy the TWRP recovery file to the fast boot and ADB directory, rename the file to ‘img”

Boot your Moto Maxx into Bootloader. To do that Press Power + Volume UP.

Connect your device to the PC  after entering into bootloader menu.

Go to the folder that you have copied the recovery image.

Open a command prompt by pressing the shift key and right click. You can open the command prompt by selecting Open command window here from the menu shown.

Now enter the command to know if your device connected in fast boot mode

fastboot devices 

You can see the device name

Now enter the command

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

New recovery image will be installed on your device

How to root Motorola Moto Maxx

  1. Enter recovery mode by pressing Volume Down + Power
  2. select install now in the recovery menu and load the SuperSu file that has been copied earlier and flash it
  3. After the process, reboot your device using the reboot option
