How to Manually Update T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 with Android 5.1.1 N910TUVU2DOK2 Lollipop

Samsung has started giving OTA updates for its T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 users. The company will send you the updates over the air. And if you don’t want to wait till the updates are available. This article will tell you how to update T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 with Android 5.1.1 N910TUVU2DOK2 Lollipop manually.

  • Please use this tutorial only with Samsung Galaxy Note 4 T- Mobile.
  • Please check your model number fo the phone before updating, supported model number are SM – N910T.
  • Download Drivers for Note 4 and Install it on your PC.
  • Download Odin3 v3.10.6 from the Internet and install it on your PC.
  • Please make sure that you have disabled the security software like antivirus in your PC and also disable Samsung Kies software. These apps will try blocking the files sent your device.
  • Enable USB debugging in your device before starting the update procedure. USB debugging can be changed from the developer options of your phone.
  • The developer options should unhide it first, go to the Settings > About phone and tap seven times on the build number – This will show developer options in the settings. Now go to Settings > Developer Options > Enable USB Debugging
  • Please know that this process will unroot your device if you have previously rooted your device. And custom recovery image will also be replaced with stock recovery image.
  • You can also apply this update if you have installed a custom recovery image on your device, but you will need to perform a factory reset.
  • Before starting the update, you should make sure that your device is having more than 70% of charge because the upgrade process will drain out the battery of the device and if it interrupted it may even brick your device.

How to flash Android 5.1.1 N910TUVU2DOK2 Lollipop Update for T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4

  1. Download the Android 5.1.1 N910TUVU2DOK2 Lollipop Firmware file from here.
  2. Extract the downloaded file and you will get an N910TUVU2DOK2 tar.md5 file, stop extracting if you get this file.
  3. Download the latest Odin v3.10.6 and install it on your PC. You can download the firmware files from here.
  4. Turn off your Note 4
  5. Open the Odin App on your PC
  6. Reboot your smartphone in the Download Mode.
  7. Connect your Note 4 using the USB cable and Odin will detect your device showing the notification “connected.”
  8. In the Odin Main screen. Disable the Re-Partition option before beginning the process.
  9. Next select AP button in Odin and the app will ask you to load the firmware file.
  10. Load the Firmware file that you have extracted ( the N910TUVU2DOK2 tar.md5 file)
  11. Hit the Start button to begin the update process. Please don’t push any buttons in your smartphone when updating the firmware.
  12. When the process is completely done, The Odin app will show a pass message, and your device will get rebooted automatically.
  13. Firat boot will take more than 10 minutes; please be patient.

Note: even if the device shows pass message and your device is not booted correctly and stuck in boot loop then you should factory reset the device

To Factory Reset

  • turn off your smartphone
  • boot the device in recovery mode
  • select ‘wipe data/ factory reset’ from the recovery menu
  • reboot from the recovery menu.
